Creative cloning

Today i played with this Tutorial :
Render Bitmap Images using Tiled SVG Clones

So my idea is how it looks if i use easy shapes for it and get interesting vector backgrounds.

Import a colorful Bitmap and create a shape (like a star for example). Unset the paint:

unsetpaint

Then you have to create the tiled clones (you can play with the sizes and rotations too):

The final background should look like these:

Have fun !!

    Hi,
I would really like to try this technique but can’t get it to work. I imported my bitmap. Then created a shape. Then created tiled clones of the shape but they don’t pick up anything from the bitmap. They were simply clones of the shape. How do I link the bitmap and the shape?

    Many thanks,
    Graham

I think there is a missing part in this tutorial. You did not explain that you placed the shape on your bitmap image. Because if the drawn shape is not on the image, you only get black clones of the shape. I am just saying it for beginners. No offense. Thanks.
